Mortise & tenon joining has always been a slow, difficult process. Never again, thanks to Festool’s Domino joining system. The system consists of the Domino joiner and pre-fabricated, solid Beech, Domino tenons. Functioning similarly to a biscuit joiner, the Domino joiner, with its revolutionary oscillating cutting method, simple indexing features and adjustable mortise sizing, makes flawless mortises every time.

The Domino tenon is equally as impressive – it’s 100% rotation proof and far stronger than either biscuits or dowels. It also has a large gluing surface area for extra strength. Domino tenons come in five sizes - 5x19x30, 6x20x40, 8x22x40, 8x22x50, and 10x24x50mm - one perfect for almost any application. The system works on everything from face frames and workpieces - as small as 1” x 5/8” - to large projects and heavy furniture.

The 3.5 amp motor has plenty of power to drive the cutter at a spindle speed of 24,300 rpm, and cut even deep mortises smoothly and easily with no kickback.  The matching Domino cutters come in diameters of 3/16”, 15/64”, 5/16”, 25/64” (5, 6, 8, 10 mm). The Domino will mortise at any angle from  0 - 90 degrees, and has stop positions at 0, 22.5, 45, 67.5, 90 degrees. Built in dust port connects to any Festool Dust Extractor for clean and accurate joining.

DF 500 Q Plus Set : Includes the Domino Joiner, the D5 (5mm) cutter, the Trim Stop, and Cross Stop (see Domino accesorries for descriptions of Trim & Cross Stops), Support Bracket, Wrench, Plug-It Cord, and T-Loc Systainer 2 tool container.

Domino 500

I have only had my Domino 500 for 3 days and I am blown away by it. I have been making a farm table and was using pocket hole's which I have really liked until my table. It was a nightmare. It probably wasn't the fault of the pocket holes but something I did wrong. But after I got all the pocket holes in to the table top there were a number of places that the screws had come through . I am sure it was something I did wrong. But after much frustration and then research on the Domino I decided to give it a try. It was so easy to use and the table top looks fantastic. I know the Festool tools are very expensive but the quality is spot on and I am looking forward to many new projects with my Domino.
