The next step in the evolution of the revolutionary Domino Joining System introduces 2 new key features:

1) The new included Domino fence, which can be purchased separately (#495348), is backward compatible with existing Domino joiners and features square stop flaps which offer improvements over the previous round pins. The square stop flaps are less likely to get caught unintentionally in adjacent mortises and are less likely to be affected by glue residue. The fence incorporates an improved clear plastic cursor which is now extended further to improve mark alignment.

2) The new included Base Support Bracket, which can be purchased separately (#495666), is backward compatible with existing Domino joiners and offers additional support across the face of the fence. The new Base Support Bracket now includes integrated flip stops which allow mortises to be plunged closer to the edge of the material. This is particularly useful for narrow workpieces. When using the flip stops, the center of the cut is 20mm (25/32") from the edge versus 37mm (1-15/32") without. The flip stops offer optimal flexibility when using the new 4mm Domino cutter and tenons.

What Is A Domino Joiner?
Mortise & tenon joining has always been a slow, difficult process. Never again, thanks to Festool's Domino joining system. The system consists of the Domino joiner and pre-fabricated, solid Beech, Domino tenons. Functioning similarly to a biscuit joiner, the Domino joiner, with its revolutionary oscillating cutting method, simple indexing features and adjustable mortise sizing, makes flawless mortises every time.

The Domino tenon is equally as impressive – it’s 100% rotation proof and far stronger than either biscuits or dowels. It also has a large gluing surface area for extra strength. Domino tenons come in many sizes - such as 5x30, 6x40, 8x40, 8x50, 10x50mm, and the new 4x20mm - perfect for almost any application. The system works on everything from face frames and workpieces - as small as 1" x 5/8" - to large projects and heavy furniture.

The 3.5 amp motor has plenty of power to drive the cutter at a spindle speed of 24,300 rpm, and cut even deep mortises smoothly and easily with no kickback.  The matching Domino cutters come in diameters of 3/16", 15/64", 5/16", 25/64" (5, 6, 8, 10 mm). The Domino will mortise at any angle from  0 - 90 degrees, and has stop positions at 0, 22.5, 45, 67.5, 90 degrees. Built in dust port connects to any Festool Dust Extractor for clean and accurate joining.
