STANLEY SWEETHEART #60-1/2 LOW ANGLE BLOCK PLANE

The #60-1/2 is perfect for a variety of tasks but is particularly well suited for paring end grains, such as on plugs, pins, tenons, or carcass joints. The adjustable mouth allows setting the cut for different tasks and types of woods.

Stanley's update of the #60-1/2 "Sweetheart" has a precision machined bed to give maximum stability to the blade. Combined with a thicker blade, this greatly reduces chatter, and thereby increases performance.

The body is made of ductile cast iron for durability and is fully stress relieved and aged before it is precision machined for flatness and perpendicularity between the soles and side.

The ergonomically designed palm rest and side finger grips provide additional control, especially during one-handed use. A newly designed lateral adjustment lever and lock makes for easy side to side blade adjustments and holds settings firm. Finely machined solid brass adjustments make for smoother operation.

Includes a 1-5/8" wide A2 steel blade that is extra thick (1/8") and hardened to an Rc 60-62 for chatter reduction and better edge retention, and is precision ground to a 25 degree angle.
