This beautiful mortising gauge is identical to Rob's Marking Gauge (#54938) but with the Mortising Attachment included. It pairs the standard cutting blade with a special mortising blade and extension.
The hardened O-1 steel blades are so sharp they slice wood fibers, rather than crushing them, leaving precise layout lines, whether cutting with or against the grain.
The attachment is adjustable for marking out mortises from 1/4" to 5/8" wide. The width is set by loosening the set screw, adjusting the cutter position, then re-tightening the set screw.
A generous flat side on the head prevents the gauge from rolling off the bench when you set it down.Canada
