Straight out of the box this beautiful gauge will impress you, not only with it's design and feel, but also with it's performance. The hardened O-1 steel blade is so sharp it slices wood fibers, rather than crushing them, leaving precise layout lines, whether cutting with or against the grain.
Manual adjustment is easy and the knurled locking screw firmly holds the beautiful solid brass head firmly in place. A hard rubber o-ring embedded inside the head provides just the right amount of resistance when setting cutting distances.
A generous flat side on the head prevents the gauge from rolling off the bench when you set it down. The blade is easily honed on a flat stone, and is replaceable should it ever wear out. Canada
