1/4 SH PLY PREP ROUTER BIT
If you build with hardwood plywood you'll love the Ply Prep Bit. It solves the annoying old problem of core expansion in plywood and other sheet goods when applying a solid wood edge. It cuts a slight depression on the edge of the plywood and leaves the surface veneers proud. This leaves space for glue wetted inner plies to swell and keeps adjoining molding from pushing away. Other systems for applying edging require 2 bits. This economical set up uses just one! The registration mark on the body of the bit helps align with the center ply and insure a square edge. Because the bit removes a little extra material stock should be cut a tad wide, and a stepped fence or a clamped-on straight edge should be used to avoid snipe and keep it the right size. Has a 1 inch cut length and will handle material from 3/4 to 1-1/2 inches thick. Carbide tipped. Made exclusively for Collins by Whiteside, USA
