It has a single beveled edge cutting wheel of hardened steel that draws the gauge against the stock to scribe fine lines without wandering or tearing wood fibers.

Works well both with and across grain. Excellent for joinery lay outs such as dovetails, mortises, and saw cut lines.

The brass head is adjustable and non-marring. Disk type cutter is easily sharpened by rubbing the flat side on a fine slip stone. 8" long. A good economy gauge. Imported
