About Crown Pro-PM Tools
The "elite" of Crown’s turning tools, Pro-PM tools are made from an advanced Powder Metal (PM). The molten steel has been compressed and sintered to give them a cutting edge which lasts four-five times longer than conventional High Speed Steel (HSS) tools.

They are hardened to between 66° and 68° Rockwell, enabling them to have vastly superior wear resistance, excellent grindability, superior toughness, a high working hardness and a high retention of hardness.
