The laminated style bodies are made from Purpleheart and have an Ipe sole for extreme wear resistance and slickness.

The 1/4" thick Starrett tool steel blades are hardened to Rc. 62. The versions we offer here have a user friendly brass adjuster instead of the traditional wooden wedge. Each model has an adjustable throat to produce very fine shavings and compensate for wear. Every plane is tested before it leaves the shop and, except for some minor adjustments, comes tuned and ready to use. We are extremely pleased that Steve has permitted us to place his superb planes in our catalog. USA
