Kell Honing Guide - Longer version handles the big blades
Made to the same design, high standard of craftsmanship, and precision as the original Kell Honing Guide, this extra-wide version is expressly made to handle blades from 1" - 2-5/8" wide. This makes it particularly suitable for extra-wide jointer plane blades, Japanese chisels, carpenter chisels, or scraper plane blades. Although this version will close down to zero, it is awkward to use with narrower blades. Therefore, we recommend staying with the original Kell Guide (#12446) for tool blades in the 0" - 1" range.
