Used as the final step after your regular sharpening routine, polishing and honing with diamond paste literally produces a mirror finish razor edge. It is especially good for chisel, plane iron, or spokeshave blades which will be used to flatten stock, work wild or difficult grained woods, or for very fine paring or cutting. A smooth, flat, block of a close grained hardwood such as hard maple makes the best substrate for the paste. Use one grit per block, and store separately to prevent cross contamination of grits. USA
