#5 Bench (Jack) Plane: Primarily used for removal of rough stock, and flattening boards. Brass knob adjustable cap iron, chip breaker. It is just over 14" long, with a 2" wide blade. Imported
This plane is nearly identical in design to it's Stanley/Record counterparts. With the exception of some cosmetic differences you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart. So, what's the biggest difference? The cost. It's 30-50% less than the British made planes, yet it has all the features you would expect on a top quality plane including: precisely machined cast body; a black Japanned finish; beautiful Indian rosewood tote and knob; adjustable cap iron; lateral adjusting lever; rear frog adjustment; etc.
