Be sure to select the right blade for the job. Proper blade selection is as important to the success of a project as nearly any other factor. TPI = Teeth Per Inch
12 TPI - For fast cutting of wood (rough or construction lumber) or plastics where speed, rather than smoothness of cut, is the primary concern.
18 TPI - For cutting solid wood, and plastic tubes (ex. PVC pipe).
24 TPI - A smoother cutting blade suitable for framing and cornices.
32 TPI - For ultra-smooth cuts. Best for fine wood, thin or delicate work pieces, and light non-ferrous metals (aluminum, zinc, copper, nickel, and brass).
