The asymmeterically shaped handles provide a controlled grip, while the heads are rotated 30 degrees to encourage a relaxed wrist. The handles get shorter as the head size increases so, rather than choking up, the user is encouraged to allow the handle to pivot in the palm of the hand. This unusual combination of relaxation and control makes possible a level of sensitivity not possible with ordinary hammers. The handles are made from tanoak. They are both wedged and pinned at the head's center of gravity.
Designed for use with either wooden or plastic handled chisels, the brass heads have both a domed and a flat side. The flat side is used for striking plastic handled chisels and the domed side is used for Japanese style chisels. The domed face directly transfers the striking force to the cutting edge, keeping the chisel from pushing to one side or another. Hammers range from 7-1/2" to 9" in length. Left hand versions available by special order. USA
