Hart Design Box Joint Templates
Do 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" box joints on our Hart Design 12" & 18" dovetail jigs
Box joints are some of the prettiest, fastest, neatest joints you can make. CNC machined from 1/4” thick aluminum, these templates for the Hart Design GFK1200 (12") and GFK1800 (18") jigs provide dependable accuracy and will stand up to years of hard use. They are much stiffer than plastic templates, so they will not flex and ruin projects. With these optional templates the jig will do: 1/4”, 3/8”, & 1/2” box joints.
A) 1/4” Box Template – Will cut joints in stock up to 5/8” thick. Requires a 1/4" straight bit (R1016), 3/8" OD template guide bushing (37917), and guide bushing lock nut (37923).
B) 3/8” Box Template – Will cut joints in stock up to 1” thick. Requires a 3/8" straight bit (R1022), 1/2" OD template guide bushing (37919), and guide bushing lock nut (37923).
C) 1/2” Box Template – Will cut joints in stock up to 1” thick. Requires a 1/2" straight bit (R1026), 5/8" OD template guide bushing (46535), and guide bushing lock nut (37923).
Hart Design Brass Template Guide Bushings are CNC machined to exacting tolerances and are the ideal accessory for our jigs. Note: Due to the precise tolerances required for joint fit and bit clearance, only Hart Design brand Template Guide Bushings should be used with the box joint templates.
