Our History
Hartville Tool's roots go clear back to 1972, when the Miller Family first purchased Hartville's local "Main Street" hardware store. Now in a day when mega "do-it-yourself" stores and "super-size" lumberyards regularly overwhelm the "little-guy" (and sometimes each other), our parent company, Hartville Hardware, has grown to become one of the largest single owned Hardware stores in the nation. Why? Because of unswerving commitment to quality and knowledgeable service.
As with the whole store, our Tool Department took off under the watchful eyes of our expert staff. Once we'd made our mark, we decided it was time to share a good thing with the rest of the world. In 1987 we launched our first catalog in black and white. Shortly after, we went to color catalogs, moved the catalog division to a separate location for improved service, and started manufacturing some of our own products. Today, we've gone to state-of-the-art digital photography, and of course added this user friendly website. It's been a long road from "Main Street", Hartville to "Main Street", USA, but it has been a rewarding trip. Even thought we don't have the number of stores that our competitors have, we're convinced that our customer service first philosophy will keep you coming back to Hartville Tool. We're not about being the biggest; we're only about being the best!

Hassle-Free Returns
We are proud of every product we sell and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it for a full merchandise refund within one year of receipt. Power tools may be returned for a full merchandise refund within 90 days of receipt. Returns must include all original parts and packaging or a re-stocking fee may be assessed.
Please include a copy of the packing slip, and write on it why you are making the return and what you would like us to do (exchange, replacement, or refund). Unless we determine the product to be defective as a result of a manufacturer's defect, return shipping charges are the customer's responsibility.

We Stock What We Sell
With the exception of noted special order items, if it's in our catalog, it's in our warehouse! We stock over 12,000 different items in our Hartville, Ohio warehouse. Should an item be out of stock as a result of unexpected high demand, we will work diligently to fulfill your order as quickly as possible. In the event we are unable to fill your order within 30 days, we will notify you of your options, including your right to cancel. Backordered items incur no additional shipping charges for and your account will not be charged until the item is shipped.
