"Tool Shavings" is HartvilleTool.com's e-newsletter. It was created to keep you up to date with the happenings here at Hartville Tool. Every edition will include:

"Tool Shavings" is generally sent out every Tuesday. If you are not receiving the e-mail it's possible your email provider is viewing them as "spam" and filtering them from your inbox. See below to find out how you can take the necessary steps to keep "Tool Shavings" from being filtered. In addition, we also define our use of the e-mail newsletter, the steps we take to avoid "spamming," and how we protect as well as value your privacy.

E-Mail For The Masses...But No Spam Please!
On the topic of spam, we would like to share our viewpoint on how we use our e-mail marketing as well as any information you provide us. First, you should know that we value your privacy and have even gone to the extent of modifying our business model to never sell any customer information we receive. You can view the complete details of our privacy policy online. Second, we make every attempt to insure we never send e-mail about our company without confirmed permission from you, our customer. Below are the necessary steps one must take to actually receive any e-mail marketing from HartvilleTool.com once you have indicated such interest.

Email Opt-in - The Next Steps
Whether you have indicated your wish to receive email updates from our free catalog request, our online contact form or during the checkout process of an online purchase, the opt-in process has only begun. Here are the following steps you must take: Not Receiving "Tool Shavings"?
Even with our attempts to avoid spam at all costs, various ISPs may detect our e-newsletter as spam and filter it from your inbox. If you have in fact followed the necessary opt-in steps above and you are not receiving "Tool Shavings" or if you have not received the initial email confirmation, it is likely your provider has filtered the message(s). Here are some steps you can take to help insure you receive every edition of "Tool lShavings."

  1. Once you complete the request, your e-mail address will be added to our marketing database with an unconfirmed status. This let's us know you've signed up and now the database is awaiting confirmation.
  2. Immediately following addition to the database, you will receive our current edition of "Tool Shavings" which will contain opt-in links you must act on.

      If you have accidently requested e-mail updates and you do not wish to recieve them, click the no link.
  3. Clicking either link will modify your status in the database accordingly as well as provide other technical information such as date/time and IP address. Failing to act on the given links will leave your e-mail address in an unconfirmed state. We will typically send one follow-up reminder to any unconfirmed address within 30-days which will also contain the current Tool Shavings edition. Should no action be taken on your part after this, your status will be set to ignored and you will no longer receive e-mail updates until you modify your status.
